Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Active Dog LLC during this unusual time in our lives. While not everyone is able to continue letting us take their dog(s) out hiking right now, we understand that this is a difficult time for many. If there is anything we can do to help or better meet your needs, please let us know.
Below are updates regarding the Covid-19 situation, as it currently pertains to Active Dog.
Pickup & Dropoff Procedure- We will send a message via Time To Pet (TTP) to all clients with an expected time for pickup. When we are in your driveway, we will honk our horn to make you aware of our presence, upon which you can let your dog(s) outside for their hike departure. If there is no response to the honk and your dog doesn’t come outside, we will either call or ring the doorbell. Some clients have requested we text them upon arrival instead, while others have provided specific spots for their dog to be picked up (i.e. backyard, garage). We are doing our best to maximize our ability to practice safe, social distancing, while also staying out of people’s homes completely as a precautionary measure.
Schedule- We have moved from March into April and there have been numerous schedule changes, most notably cancelations given the epidemic we are currently experiencing. Please review your schedule in TTP or send us a message if you see any inaccuracies.
Nature Hikes- We are conducting nearly all our hikes on our private land in Pawling, NY now, as many of the local municipalities have closed their parks or are no longer allowing dogs at them due to the influx of people hiking. On most days lately, we pick up our clients’ dogs in the morning and have them home in the early afternoon.
Ticks- Spring is here and with that comes the ticks. Please make sure to keep your dog(s) up to date with their flea and tick medication and/or collars. If you need any guidance on this subject, feel free to message us.
Face Coverage- The CDC has recommended that everyone outside should wear a mask, so we will be following this protocol as well. Most of our staff will also wear gloves, use hand sanitizer as necessary and continue to practice social distancing.
I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this time.
