Important Questions for Andy
Why should you trust me with your dog?
My wife and I got our first chocolate lab, Bennie before we had children; he was essentially our first child. Both working long hours, we were concerned if we’d be able to find a trustworthy enough person to look after our dog. And eventually, we did. Her name was Michelle, and she gained our trust by being consistent, reliable, and loving to our dog. So, understanding how important this job is from being on the client side of things has informed how I will perform this role as a hiker/companion to your dog. I will be there for your dog, because I understand the level of trust you are putting in me from the moment I pull up to your house for pick up, to the moment I bring them safely home, all tired out from a great day’s hike!
What do you enjoy about working at Active Dog?
I enjoy being in the presence of dogs. Seeing their unique reactions to being picked up; watching how they explode with joy when they are let out of the van after arriving for a hike. Listening to the stillness of the woods playing against the sound of a pack of dogs flying by at full speed… That’s about as good as it gets!
What did you do before you worked at Active Dog and why did you decide to work with dogs?
Historically I have worked in many different places, doing many different things in the film, episodic TV, and live sports TV sectors. I’ve also worked in publishing, sales, and digital imagery. I decided to work with dogs because after researching the company, I realized it may be the best job opportunity I’ve ever come by. That, and I get to share all my new experiences with my two girls and my wife, who are crazy about dogs and animals in general, too!
