Geoff MacFadden
Expert Dog Hiker
You can trust me with your dog because I have a genuine and huge love for all animals, especially dogs. And, like dogs, I enjoy being outdoors, whatever the weather. I’ve spent over 10 years working with dogs throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties, training them on containment fences, and winning over even the most skittish canine. I think dogs can sense how much I care about them.
There are a whole lot of reasons to love working at Active Dog, but my favorite is picking up a happy, almost smiling (sometimes actually smiling) dog and seeing that happy face in the car, on the hike, then back home. It brings a smile to my face, too, and so much enjoyment. Being outdoors, hiking through the woods, meeting new people, having a new pack of dogs every day are all activities that are truly special for a person like me.
Before joining Active Dog, I worked at Ridgefield Pet, designing and installing pet fences for clients and then training them and their dogs to stay safe and contained within their properties. Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with over 2,000 dogs within Fairfield and Westchester counties.
I knew that by working with dogs I would be able to get to know each dog individually, including breed-specific behaviors. Each and every dog I have ever met has shared his/her personality with me — always a unique experience and greatly rewarding.
Here’s a look at what’s happening on our nature hikes. We post photos and videos for every hike.
