Geoff MacFadden
Expert Dog Hiker
You can trust me with your dog because I have a deep love and respect for animals—dogs especially. Like them, I’m happiest outdoors, come rain or shine. With over a decade of experience working with dogs in Fairfield and Westchester counties, I’ve trained countless pups on containment fences and have a knack for winning over even the shyest dogs. I believe they can sense my genuine care for them.
I was drawn to Active Dog because it combines my passion for the outdoors with my love for dogs. The chance to work in nature daily and to give dogs the joy and freedom of hiking adventures felt like the perfect fit. Being part of a team dedicated to dogs’ happiness and well-being was exactly the kind of work I wanted to be a part of.
Favorite type of dog?
Honestly, I love all dogs. Each one has its own unique personality and quirks, and that variety is what makes spending time with them so rewarding.
Favorite season to hike in?
My favorite season to hike is fall. The days stay warm, nights are refreshingly cool, and the changing leaves add a beautiful touch to every trail.
Do you have any pets of your own? If so, what kind?
I don’t have any pets at home, but working with dogs every day gives me all the companionship and joy I’d have with a pet of my own.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day/weekend off?
My ideal weekend day off is either playing disc golf, hiking solo, or relaxing at home to recharge for the week ahead.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have?
Water, Food, Shelter
