Personal Background

Karie is a mom of 2 grown sons, 2 cats and a 9 year old English Lab, Finn. Growing up in New Orleans, she always had a dog by her side. Karie moved to NYC after graduate school and worked in arts administration in the classical music industry.

Karie now lives in Greenwich and enjoys daily walks through town with Finn, hiking, running, daily yoga and barre, and paddle boarding in the summer.

Why should you trust me with your dog?

You can trust me with your dog because I am very attentive and intuitive to dogs’ needs. I know how important it is for dogs to take time to sniff and explore on their walks. I also know that while some dogs are very social, others prefer to not interact and I pay very special attention when encountering other dogs on walks to make sure the dog I’m walking is safe and comfortable.

What do you enjoy about working at Active Dog?

I love being outdoors in any kind of weather and appreciate how much dogs (most) love it too. I like being a part of any dog’s “happy time”! I have been on the client side and know how important it is to trust and connect with your dog walker. During my time as a client, the team of Active Dog walkers and hikers always made me feel like Finn was safe, happy and having a great time!

What did you do before you worked at Active Dog and why did you decide to work with dogs?

After relocating to Greenwich about 5 years ago, I worked on the sales end of the fitness industry. I have decided to work with dogs because I love being outside and having the opportunity to bond with the dogs I’m walking.
