Expert Dog Hiker
Working around horses since I was a teenager and knowing how unpredictable they are has taught me to always be alert, observant, and patient. These skills are required when working with any type of animal, especially multiple at a time like we do at Active Dog. I promise to treat every animal as if it were my own, giving them the same attention and affection that their owners do.
I love that I get to explore the quiet of the outdoors surrounded by dogs for a living! Every day is a learning experience and I enjoy seeing the different personalities and behaviors of each dog.
Before working at Active Dog, I worked at two fitness clubs as a personal trainer. I remember at my kindergarten graduation when we had to share our dream job, I said I wanted to be a firefighter solely because I thought that was my closest chance to working with Dalmatians every day. My parents never allowed me to have a dog growing up, but I took every opportunity to watch my friend’s dogs or hold the leash when we’d go for walks with them. Working with dogs now is a dream come true because even though my apartment doesn’t allow me to have my own, I still get to be around them every day.
Here’s a look at what’s happening on our nature hikes. We post photos and videos for every hike.
