Catie was born and raised in southern CT and loves to hike all over the East Coast with her German Shepherd rescue Lenny by her side. She is a Uconn graduate who majored in History and Political Science before switching gears to pursue a career in fashion.
After seven years in the industry, she is ready for a career that involves two of the greatest gifts life has to offer: nature and dogs! When Catie is not hiking she can be found crafting at home or seeking out live music.
For as long as I can remember I have not only loved dogs, but have felt a sort of special connection to them. I climbed into many a crate as a child to hang out with the dog of whomever I was visiting, and though I can’t quite fit in a crate anymore, you’ll still find me on the floor with the family dog at any social gathering. I promise to love your pup as I love my own. And I love my German Shepherd mix rescue, Lenny, A LOT
What do you enjoy about working at Active Dog?
Spending each day surrounded by nature and dogs? What more could one want?! But on a serious note, working at AD allows me to form long-lasting relationships with so many wonderful pups and people.
I genuinely wake up each morning excited to see my pack and their humans. The staff members are fantastic also. It’s fun swapping dog stories with lovely, like-minded people. The fact that every day is Bring Your Dog to Work Day is also a definite perk!
What did you do before you worked at Active Dog and why did you decide to work with dogs?
Prior to working at AD I worked in the fashion industry for about 7 years. I commuted to NYC daily and eventually to Jersey City where I worked in merchandising at a sleepwear company. My reason for the career change is not all that elaborate; being around dogs just makes me happy. Dogs have brought me so much joy and this job enables me to return the favor by providing them with fun, exercise, and mental stimulation in a beautiful, natural, and safe environment
